When September Ends

September is drawing to a close and has gone by so fast.  I just wanted to take a moment and appreciate the things of the ninth month.
It is the month when growers sell heirloom tomatoes at the farmer's market.  Vibrant sunflowers grow so tall they peak over the top of backyard fences.  The air gets cooler, dew clings to blades of grass, and for a few hours of the day morning glories show their glory.
It is the month where I put away the clean linen candles and bring out the spicy ones.  Light sweaters are a must for chilly walks.  Socks begin to make their appearance.  And I begin to long for hearty soups.

It is the month where days grow shorter.  Kids go back to school.  And busy parents find relief with a routine.

September is the month when Americans remember and reflect.
