Dear Tea Kettle ...

My poor, tired tea kettle.

Dear Tea Kettle,
You have served me well. For ten years you have sat perched upon my stove top, singing that cute little song to let me know your belly is full of hot water. You have provided me with countless cups of comforting tea. And while I appreciate your years of service, I feel that our time together may soon come to an end.
The truth is, you are wearing out. I can see you getting tired and tarnished. Your side is dented, you are showing signs of aging around your spout, and you are becoming so hard to clean. Plus you were made in China - not exactly a good attribute.
Please understand, it's not you ... it's me. I fully admit that I am looking for something sleeker. Something that is up to the task of taking care of my embarrassing tea habit. Something like this:
Le Creuset Enameled Steel Zen Tea Kettle - in Cobalt Blue. Hello, Gorgeous!

I know, I know! Perhaps I am being a little unfair, but this baby is just so beautiful. But don't worry dear Tea Kettle, you haven't been replaced yet ... just know that it's coming.
Sincerely,
That lady who keeps you running all the time.

Ah, teapot lust. I too, have a similar dysfunction.

I must say, your old teapot is still very shiny! You, uh, must clean yours, uh, better than I do...

Hmmm...I have a five year old teapot in practically brand new shape. (wonder why that is) I love that teapot. But then I love just about anything by Le Creuset.
